Lidl UK has launched its first TV advert in England as part of a festive campaign for its quality range, Deluxe.
After previously running TV ads in the Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland and Scotland, Lidl UK Managing Director Ronny Gottschlich explained that the time was right to debut the ad in England: “We’ve had a huge increase in the number of customers coming through our doors because people are realising they don’t need to shop anywhere else for Christmas.”
Initially trialled as a Christmas-only brand, the Deluxe range was expanded after sales rocketed by 100% year-on-year to £40.2m in its UK business. With the ad featuring across terrestrial and digital channels, Lidl expects sales of the range to increase by 50% this year.
