Brennans Recalls Packs Of Family Pan Over Paper Contamination Concerns

Brennans Bakeries has recalled loaves of Brennans Family Pan 800g, with a best before date of 20 May 16, code 18, due to the risk that they may contain small pieces of laminated paper.

The company explained that while there is no risk to consumers who may have already consumed the product, given Brennans’ ‘high standards of food safety, taste and quality, it is recalling the product as a precautionary measure.

It added that only packs marked with the 20 May date and code 18 are affected, and that these have already been removed from supermarket shelves.

It now plans to place advertisements alerting consumers of the product recall in the press, and has already advised the retail trade and the appropriate regulatory authorities.

Anyone who has purchased one of the affected packs can return it to their local retailer, or send the empty packaging with their name and address to Joseph Brennan Bakeries, in Walkinstown, for a full refund.
