Ireland’s Top 5 TV Food And Drink Ads In May

McDonald’s Own your McSpicy Face ad was the most popular food and drink brand advert on the TV in May, according to research conducted by Behaviour & Attitudes on behalf of Checkout.

The second-place spot goes to the Lucozade Statues ad.

In third place is Domino’s Castaways ad.

Coca-Cola’s A Recipe for Magic by Gigi Hadid | New Traditions is in fourth place.

Island’s Edge’s It’s Better, Less Bitter ad is in fifth place.

Ireland’s Top 5 TV Food And Drink Ads

1. McDonald’s: Own your McSpicy Face

McDonald’s calls on members of the UK public to own their ‘spicy’ faces when they tuck into a McSpicy chicken burger. The 30-second spot opens with a woman sitting at a bus stop, proudly waiting to take a bite out of her McSpicy. It then cuts to people trying to cool their mouths down, styling out the heat.

2. Lucozade: Statues 

The second-place spot goes to the Lucozade Statues ad.

3. Domino’s: Castaways

The creative opens on a tropical desert island, where three castaways are stranded and dreaming of food that they would like to eat. One of the guys yodels, ‘DOMIN-OH-HOO-HOO,’ which, in turn, summons a jet ski delivery driver carrying a Domino’s pizza.

4. Coca-Cola: A Recipe for Magic by Gigi Hadid | New Traditions

The 30-second ad features Gigi Hadid and friends making home-made pasta together, before sitting down to dine with a bottle of Coca-Cola.

5. Island’s Edge: It’s Better, Less Bitter

This ad features people in a pub sharing examples of situations in their lives where they chose optimism over bitterness. The conversation among the pub crowd is sparked when a guy asks the barman, “What’s the deal with Island’s Edge?” to which he responds, “It’s less bitter.”
