ISPCC Childline And McCambridge Launch Breakfast Campaign

This May, Childline by ISPCC is calling on families, schools, clubs and workplaces across the country to take time for breakfast and support the charity.

The organisation is encouraging people to sit, listen and enjoy each other’s company as they raise vital funds for Ireland’s only 24/7 listening service for children and teenagers.

‘Rise & Shine for Childline’ is a national breakfast campaign designed to get people talking as they raise money for the essential service.

Since February, 145 children have reached out to Childline by ISPCC’s 24/7 listening service to talk about self-harm.

Of those children, 65 are repeat contacts who have gone on to reach out to the service regarding suicidal ideation.

Childline hopes that supporters of the service will host their own breakfast, so the organisation can continue to support every child who reaches out to it.

When you sign up to host a ‘Rise & Shine’ breakfast, you will receive a digital pack with conversation-starter cards designed by in-house therapeutic experts.

The cards will help to encourage check-ins with children and young people in your life, to open up honest conversations.

‘Rise & Shine for Childline’ is supported by McCambridge Bread.

Sign up throughout the month of May on the website www.childlinebreakfast.com.
