Nestlé Ireland has announced that it has won the prestigious ‘Corporate Impact Award’ at the Irish Red Cross’s Humanitarian Awards, in recognition for its “exemplary contribution to humanitarian causes” and for making a positive impact on society.
'Winning this Corporate Impact Award is a testament to the commitment and contribution from Nestlé and its staff to make the Case for Good in everything we do, supporting humanitarian, environmental, and social causes in Ireland through employee volunteering and supporting our community partners,' the confectionery giant said.
In 2020, Nestlé Ireland increased its existing community and charitable supports; establishing new relationships to aid organisations working on the frontlines and with those most vulnerable in our communities, it added.
Nestlé Ireland said that it provided support of in excess of €290,000 to organisations including FoodCloud, Pieta House, the Irish Red Cross and the DSPCA.
It also donated products to other organisations including the HSE, Order of Malta Ireland, the Irish Cancer Society and the Dublin & Cork Simon Community.
The environmental commitments and achievements made by Nestlé - such as the installation of c1,800 square metre butterfly meadow at the Wyeth Nutritionals facility in Askeaton as well the global commitment to make 100% of its packaging recyclable or reusable by 2025 – were also highlighted by the judges, it added.
