Diageo-owned Smithwick’s has officially unveiled its newest beer, Smithwick’s Blonde, in time for summer, as part of its ‘Superior Then, Superior Now’ campaign.
Smithwick’s Blonde is a golden beer made with Polaris hops, and is described as having a delicate flavour and a smooth finish.
The new beer will be featured in Smithwick’s TV ad campaign from 4 May, and as part of its out of home marketing from 18 May.
The TV spot features a man entering a bar wearing a Marlon Brando-inspired leather jacket, while a voiceover reads, “The Biker Jacket. Since 1928.” He walks to the bar, while a barman pours pint of Smithwick’s, together with the tagline “Smithwick’s. Since 1710. Superior Then. Superior Now.”
Brewer Luis Ortega commented, “We are very proud of creating Smithwick’s Blonde, with its delicious balance of hops and malt and believe this remarkable beer offers lager and ale drinkers a fresh alternative this summer.
Smithwick’s Blonde is currently available in 500ml bottles in selected off-licences, priced at €2.59 RRP.
