Two Teeling Whiskey Company (TWC) brands were awarded gold medals at the 2013 Irish Whiskey Masters in London this week. The Teeling Small Batch Irish Whiskey won in the Irish Blended category while the Teeling 21 Year Old Single Malt Silver Reserve won in the Irish Single Malt, Super Premium category.
Founder of TWC, Jack Teeling said, “We are delighted that the first offerings from the Teeling Whiskey Company have been recognised by industry experts as being of Gold Medal standard. Our team’s wealth of Irish Whiskey industry experience has given us the confidence to diversify the category by producing interesting and unique small batch bottlings. We will continue to innovate and create new expressions of Ireland’s greatest export.”
This is TWC’s first year of operation, and its successes come from the Teeling family’s extensive prior experience at the helm of the Cooley Distillery, Co Louth, where they won over 50 international gold medals for distilling excellence.
