Aldi Ireland has announced the launch of high-quality Irish Wagyu steaks, available in store from 2 May.

Whether planning a barbecue or looking for a rich umami taste, the luxury steak can be enjoyed for a fraction of its usual price.

Aldi’s award-winning Specially Selected range has now added Wagyu steak to its offering, which includes sirloin, striploin, rib-eye and fillet, with prices starting from €6.79.

Wagyu, widely regarded as one of the world’s tastiest steaks, boasts a unique marbling that produces a tender texture and a buttery flavour profile.

Aldi’s commitment to offering premium meat products at affordable prices aims to allow customers to taste the finest food that Ireland has to offer.

Best served with home-made chips or a fresh salad, Wagyu steak is the perfect indulgence to welcome in the summer season.

For added flavour, add a delicious peppercorn sauce or treat yourself to a zingy chimichurri dressing.

Four Wagyu steak options will be available in all 161 Aldi stores across Ireland.

The Wagyu steaks on offer include a sirloin (€6.79 for 227g), a striploin (€7.99 for 227g), a rib-eye (€8.79 for 227g) and a fillet (€8.99 for 170g).
