GrassMax has been named as the overall winner at this year’s Enterprise Ireland Innovation Arena Awards, in association with the National Ploughing Association (NPA).
GrassMax is a ‘world-first technology that helps livestock farmers optimise grass utilisation and nutrient planning with easy-to-use decision support tools, including cloud-free satellite grass covers; offering new insights for increasing farm productivity and verifying sustainability practices.’
Commenting on the awards, Kieran Holden, Grassland digital specialist at Origin Enterprises, commented, “As a farmer myself, I’m really excited about GrassMax’s ability to measure grass height remotely and in real time.
“This will enable me to make better-informed decisions regarding grazing schedules, animal nutrition, and silage cuts, for example, resulting in less waste and a more stable, sustainable food supply.
“We acknowledge all the Innovation Arena Awards winners this year, and the support of Enterprise Ireland and the NPA.
“With many talented entrepreneurs focused on shaping the future of agriculture, Ireland can play a leading role in agritech innovation and help develop more efficient and sustainable food production systems, which protect our environment.”
