Maxol Opens first Zambrero Restaurant at Dublin Road, Dundalk
Irish forecourt retailer Maxol has announced that it has opened its first Mexican restaurant Zambrero at Maxol Dublin Road, Dundalk.
The refurbishment at Dundalk follows an investment of €260,000 with the creation of seven new jobs, bringing total employment levels at the Maxol service station to 25.
“Zambrero is a great addition for our customers – they can get a Mexican meal fast, freshly prepared on site by our trained staff,” Colin Fee, licensee of Maxol Dublin Road, said.
“All meat is slow cooked and ready to be served in a taco, classic burrito, on nachos, or in a ‘power bowl’ all served with fresh salsa and salad. This new Mexican offer adds further choice to our own in-store award-winning Maxol deli.”
The redeveloped site also includes the new Rosa Coffee brand, contemporary seating area, high spec washrooms, full off-licence, as well as complimentary wi-fi. A drive-through car wash and pay at pump facilities providing fuel 24 hours are also available.
The first branch was opened by Darragh Fanning, the former rugby union player and general manager of Zambrero Ireland, with three partners in 2016.
The quick-service restaurant, with a focus on healthy Mexican food, now has five branches operating in Ireland, excluding the new unit in Maxol’s station.
“We are delighted to be entering into a partnership with Maxol and look forward to working together on our first restaurant. Our plan is to launch four new restaurants this year and we’re very pleased to have this opportunity with Maxol,” Fanning said.
“Irish palettes are changing, and while Mexican cuisine is already very popular in Ireland, we hope to provide the growing number of health-conscious customers with a delicious and beneficial choice.”
