Did you know?... Lidl donated €1000 to Gorey Youth Needs this week as part of its ‘Lidl Loves Wexford’ event. The event is a tribute to customers across Wexford and their contribution to Lidl's ongoing success. The team at Lidl Gorey chose Gorey Youth Needs group in recognition of their excellent work in the community. Speaking about the donation, Mandi Tighe, CEO of Gorey Youth Needs, said they are very pleased to accept such a generous donation from Lidl Gorey.

Did you know?... Just Eat has added Burger King to its diverse range of restaurant partners. This is the first time that fans of Burger King can order for delivery to their home or office in Ireland. The Burger King signing is the latest in a series of new restaurant partner signings in 2018 and further increases the range of choice and diversity available from Just Eat. With another first for consumers in Ireland, fast food favourite Burger King has exclusively joined the Just Eat delivery service.  The partnership is starting with the much-loved brand’s Baggot Street branch.

Did you know?... Pre-tax profits at Temple Inns Ltd, the company behind Dublin's Temple Bar pub, rose 3% to €3.4 million last year. The company's gross profits rose 7.7% from €10.34 million in 2016 to over €11.1 million last year while aggregate directors' remuneration decreased from €337,197 to €324,055 and the group's accumulated profits totalled €13.97 million at the end of October of 2017.

Did you know?... KSG Catering has partnered with University College Cork to open Ireland’s first plastic-free café. Located on the UCC campus in the Biosciences Institute, the ‘Bio Green Café’ was refurbished in August and officially opened as Ireland’s first plastic-free café on Tuesday, September 11. All plastic drink bottles have been removed from the café and have been replaced with glass bottles and cans. Likewise, all plastic sachets have been removed and replaced with small reusable crockery containers.

Did you know?... Guinness, together with the publicans of Ireland, is celebrating the magic of quality catch-ups with friends in the pub with a new initiative called ‘Switch to Pub Mode’. To coincide with the launch, Guinness carried out a study which delved into the impact of phone use on a night out with friends. The research found that, despite the reliance on our phones and the extent to which we value them, when we meet up with friends and put our phones down, we have a better night out with 94% stating that they enjoyed a night out as much or more without their phone in stark contrast to just 6% of people enjoying a night more with their phone in use.

Did you know?... Jameson Irish Whiskey has launched Jameson Cold Brew.
