As part of its ongoing expansion plans, the Maxol Group has announced its 22nd new store opening in two years, with the opening of a new convenience destination on the Dublin Road in Dundalk? This latest addition to the Maxol portfolio represents an investment of nearly €2 million and will create 25 new jobs.

Did You Know... Avocados are continuing to grow in popularity in Ireland, the Irish Independent has reported? SuperValu has seen sales of the popular vegetable rise by 142% over the last two years, and Tesco reports a 20% increase in sales of the last year versus the previous year.

Did You Know... RubyBlue Irish Potato Vodka has won a silver medal at the New York World Wine and Spirits Competition? Produced by the Hughes Craft Distillery in County Antrim, the small batch vodka was launched in May by the company, which also makes RubyBlue berry liquor.

Did You Know... Northern Ireland brand Suki Teahouse has moved one step closer to growing its own tea? Having taken delivery of 4,000 cuttings from Tanzania’s Luponde Tea Garden, Suki Teahouse now plans to cultivate them at Greenmount Agricultural College in Antrim for 18 months, after which they will be transferred to Portaferry, County Down.

Did You Know... Kinsale Gourmet has won the prize for Innovation at this year’s Blas na hÉireann? It won the prize for its recently launched ‘Meals Made Easy’ range, which beat 90 products for the award sponsored by Bord Iascaigh Mhara’s Seafood Development Centre.

Did You Know... Aldi is launching a caviar skincare range in the UK, with prices starting from £6.99 (€9.43)? Aldi’s Lacura range will contain luxury ingredients caviar extract and snow algae – both of which are said to rejuvenate tired or mature skin.
