Did You Know ... Drinks company S.Pellegrino has announced the return of S.Pellegrino Young Chef, a global competition for young culinary talent? The contest takes place over 18 months and previous winners include Ireland-based chef Mark Moriarty.

Did You Know ... Bloom by Bord Bia is returning for 2017? The event will be held from 1 - 5 June of this year. Bloom has also announced its postcard gardens exhibit and is seeking entrants from garden clubs, societies, community groups, GIY and conservations groups to enter the competition and showcase their horticultural talents inside a 2 metre x 3 metre plot.

Did You Know … The Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) served 106 distinct food enforcements orders on food businesses in 2016? This equals the number served in 2015.00 All in all, food inspectors served 94 Closure Orders, 3 Improvements Orders and 9 Prohibition Orders on retailers, restaurants, food manufacturers and processors through the country.

Did You Know … Exterion Media is expanding its digital Out-of-Home advertising network into Northern Ireland? 70” dPod screens will be installed across five Northern Irish centres: Kennedy Centre Belfast, Bloomfield Shopping Centre Bangor, Bow Street Mall Lisburn, High Street Mall Portadown and Erneside Shopping Centre Enniskillen.

Did You Know … Unilever has pledged to use 100% recyclable plastic packaging by 2025? CEO Paul Polman said, “To address the challenge of ocean plastic waste we need to work on systemic solutions - ones which stop plastics entering our waterways in the first place. Did You Know … Agri-food co-operative Fane Valley has moved its headquarters to Moira, Co Down? The co-op was headquartered on Alexander Road in Armagh for over 70 years and has moved into the new 65,000 square foot facilities as part of its plans to extend its agri-business further afield.
