Did you know … Bord Bia has launched its new ‘Flex Your Mussels’ campaign to promote Irish mussels? As part of the initiative, Bord Bia has created a range of delicious recipes, including the classic Moules Marinieres, ready in less than 10 minutes.

Did you know ... drinking beverages at very hot temperatures has been found to increase the chances of getting certain cancers? According to Independent.ie, recent WHO research suggests that drinks of 65C and over are likely to contribute to cancer of the oesophagus.

Did you know … Tesco has sold its garden centre chain, Dobbies for £217 million, according to BBC.com? The news comes shortly after the retailer announced the sale of its restaurant business, Giraffe, and Turkish supermarket, Kipa.

Did you know ... food distribution app FoodCloud has been selected as a finalist in Virgin Media's Voom 2016 competition? According to IrishTimes.com, six start-ups out of 3,000 entries have been selected for the finale at the end of this month. The FoodCloud team will pitch their idea to a panel of judges, which includes Richard Branson, to compete for a £1 million prize fund.

Did you know … The Guinness Open Gate Brewery hosted a special ‘Taste of Beer’ event ahead of this year’s Taste of Dublin festival? The beer and food pairing experience featured some of Ireland’s leading food producers, such as The Cupcake Bloke, The Little Milk Company, and The Natural Bakery, all of which created dishes taking inspiration from the brewery’s experimental beers.

Did you know … a survey of over 39 products has found that many 'healthy' breakfast biscuits contain more sugar than a bowl of Kellogg's Coco Pops? Telegraph.co.uk reports that nearly half of breakfast biscuits available have the same or more sugars than a standard 30 gram serving of Coco Pops, which contains three teaspoons of sugar.
