Food and integrated serviced provider, Aramark has been awarded the title of ‘Best Catering Job’ for its catering services at Croke Park at the National Hospitality Awards – one of the industry’s most reputable and recognisable accolades for excellence in catering services.

British middle-market consumer businesses, such as retail and leisure operators, are more pessimistic about the impact of Brexit on their business than any other sector according to the latest YouGov survey, commissioned by audit, tax and consulting firm RSM. Andrew Westbrook, a retail specialist partner at RSM said, “It’s striking that the consumer business sector is most despondent about the impact of Brexit when compared to other industries. Uncertainty around the UK’s future trading relationship is a major sticking point.”

Keelings has raised €15,556.50 for Dyslexia Association Ireland, through a number of fundraising events held nationwide. Founded in 1972, the Dyslexia Association of Ireland works with people affected by dyslexia, by providing information, offering support services, engaging in advocacy, and raising awareness of dyslexia – a learning difficulty that affects around 10% of the population.

Frank and Honest has opened its first café in Cork city, in the revamped SuperValu store in Merchant’s Quay. The new café will also offer free Wi-Fi, and a new sit-in area. Frank and Honest claims to be the closest thing to barista style coffee to ever come out of a machine. Its system is said to combine all the barista steps to deliver the perfect coffee by monitoring the temperature, coffee grind and extraction time.

Each of the UK's 'big four' supermarkets recorded a decline in market share for the 12 weeks ending 8 October 2017, according to the latest figures from Kantar Worldpanel.
Sales were up at Tesco (2.1%), Sainsbury's (1.9%), Asda (1.8%) and Morrisons (2.8%), however, all of the large retailers lost market share to smaller operators and discounters. Overall, supermarket sales have increased in value by 3.1%, revealing the 17th consecutive period of growth in the British grocery market.


Rémy Cointreau has recorded sales of €544.4 million in the first half of its financial year, with organic growth of 7%. The company claims that this 'robust growth' was driven by its group brands, in particular Rémy Martin, which saw sales grow by 15.4%. In the first half, organic growth increased in all regions, with strong momentum in Asia Pacific, China and Singapore, as well as improved trends in Japan.

ABP has announced it is investing £22 million (€24.68 million) in a green energy plant, which will produce enough sustainable energy to power the equivalent of 12,000 homes. ABP's renewables division, Olleco, has just opened the facility in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, in the UK. It is located beside the Arla dairy, and will allow the dairy to become a zero carbon milk processing facility.
