Aldi has won five awards at the first FreeFrom Food Awards for its range of gluten-free foods.
Its Has No Gluten Free Irish White Bread (€1.89) nabbed a gold medal, while Has No Irish Coffee Cake (€2.29) won silver, and Specially Selected Gluten-Free Cranberry & White Chocolate Cookies (€1.99) won bronze.
Aldi’s Harvest Kitchen Irish Curry Sauce (€2.99) and Carlos Gluten-free Pepperoni Pizza (€2.49) also both received merits.
Finbar McCarthy, Aldi Ireland Group Buying Director, commented, "We are extremely proud that our gluten-free products have been recognised for the excellent taste, quality and value they offer.
"We first introduced gluten-free bread to our stores in 2011, realising the demand from our customers to cater for those following a gluten-free lifestyle."
