Aldi Opens New Killaloe Project Fresh Store Creating 20 New Jobs

Aldi has increased its presence in Co. Clare with the opening of its latest “Project Fresh” store in Killaloe, creating 20 new jobs.

The new store, the fourth in the county, totals 1,149 square metres of floor space, and has 104 free car parking spaces, wide aisles, and hi-spec fixtures and fittings.

Project Fresh

“The opening of Aldi Killaloe is great news for local shoppers as we have the best grocery prices in Ireland. Our Swap and Save campaign launched in May and the goal of this campaign is to remind shoppers about the saving that can be generated by swapping their weekly shop to Aldi,” Ian Dawson, store manager of Aldi’s new Killaloe store, said.

“The spacious award-winning Project Fresh design of our new store makes for an easy and enjoyable shop.”

The new store is part of Aldi’s €160m investment in its Irish store network, between its goal of opening 20 new stores by the end of next year and refurbishing all of its stores into its new Project Fresh store format.

Aldi added that its stores in Co. Clare are deeply involved with their local communities, donating surplus food daily to local charitable organisations as part of Aldi’s partnership with FoodCloud.

Aldi’s stores in the county have donated over 23,000 meals to charity through FoodCloud, saving local charities more than €32,000.
