Aldi Raises Over €4,000 With #HookedByAldi At Taste Of Dublin

Aldi and FoodCloud raised €4,330 in diner donations at its #HookedByAldi initiative at Taste of Dublin, which the retailer will match in full, bringing the total to €8,660.

Diners at #HookedByAldi were asked to make a donation to FoodCloud, a social enterprise that connects businesses like Aldi with local charities, so that they can donate surplus food at the end of the business day.

For every €10 that diners donated, local charities linked with FoodCloud will receive the equivalent of 40 meals for people in need.

The amount raised therefore, equates to 34,640 in meal donations to those most in need across Ireland.

The #HookedByAldi beach-hut style restaurant offered Aldi seafood, with matched wines, as well as a dessert of Aldi Specially Selected Ice-cream served in a Waffle Cone.
