Applegreen has announced its newest charity partners for 2014/15, The Children's Medical and Research Foundation, Our Lady's Children's Hospital Crumlin and Anam Cara.
The partnership commenced on January 6th, and will continue until December 2015, seeking to raise €240,000 over the 2 year period. Applegreen has worked alongside charities within the local community since establishing the Applegreen Charitable Fund in 2009.
Every time a purchase is made for fuel and shop or for a shop-only transaction, 1 cent will be donated to the fund with each donation listed on customer receipts, and all funds raised will be passed on to the charities every 3 months.
“I am delighted to announce our new charity partners The Children’s Medical and Research Foundation, Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital Crumlin and Anam Cara,” said Joe Barrett, Applegreen chief operations officer.
“Our charitable fund, now in its 5th year, is about giving something back. By simply shopping in an Applegreen our customers not only get value for their purchase but an opportunity to support two Irish charities without any additional cost to the customer.”
