Focus Ireland Launches 'Taste Of Home' Jam And Chutneys To Raise Funds

Focus Ireland has launched a range of jams and chutneys called 'Taste of Home' to help raise funds to tackle homelessness in Ireland.

The charity developed the initiative as part of its efforts to provide education, training and work experience to people who are homeless or at risk of losing their home.

The Taste of Home range was developed by Focus Ireland customers and staff who worked together to devise a business plan to produce and sell the range of jams and chutneys.

The jams are produced in the Focus Ireland coffee shop on Eustace Street, Dublin, where the charity began 30 years ago. Alongside the jams and chutneys, 40,000 meals a year are produced from the café for people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

The Taste of Home includes Jumbleberry Jam, Pear & Walnut Chutney, Tomato Relish and a seasonal special Strawberry and Vanilla jam. For every euro spent on the range, 89c goes to the charity’s frontline services.

The Taste of Home range is currently stocked in 19 SuperValu stores across Dublin, while plans are in place to roll it out to retailers nationwide.
