Gino D’Acampo Launches 'Real Italian Food' Range With Iceland Ireland

Gino D’Acampo has today (2 September) launched a 'real Italian food' range with Iceland Foods.

According to the UK retailer the well-known Italian chef, D’Acampo has chosen Iceland to be 'the Irish supermarket' to sell his range.

“I chose to launch my new frozen range of products in Iceland because I wanted as many people as possible to have the opportunity to try my range," D’Acampo said.

Birthplace Of Pizza

Born and raised in Naples, the This Morning TV chef's range includes pizzas and flatbreads made using traditional Neapolitan methods, 'all inspired by his generations of family recipes.'

The range also includes sauces and meals and classic Italian meals such as Lasagne, Cannelloni, Aubergine Parmigiana and Mia’s meatballs.

“I never understand the perception people have that frozen food is cheap food!  I make great Italian dishes at home and freeze them for later," D’Acampo  added.

"With the help of my partners in Italy that’s exactly what we have done here, just on a bigger scale.”

Authentic Range

The real Italian food range builds on Gino’s extensive knowledge and his partnerships with specialist Italian producers to create a truly authentic range of Italian dishes, Iceland outlined in a statement.

“Our mission was to create a truly authentic Italian range for our customers and in order to achieve this we teamed up with one of the most famous Italian chef’s Gino D’Acampo," Ron Metcalfe, managing director at Iceland Ireland, said.

"Working closely with Gino we developed a delicious range, frozen at the peak freshness, to not only inspire but excite our customers."
