John Moane Of BWG Named President Of Appeals At IGBF

John Moane, managing director of BWG Food’s Wholesale Division, was today (1 December) named as the new president of appeals at the Irish Grocers’ Benevolent Fund (IGBF), which took place Clayton Hotel, Burlington Road, Dublin 4.

The IGBF which was set up over 30 years ago is a national registered charity assisting people in the retail, wholesale and supplier trade sectors. Its objective is to 'provide financial relief for people in need who have been involved in these trade sectors'.

Moane was appointed managing director of the BWG Wholesale Division in 2006, a divison that also incorporates the Value Centre chain of cash & carry outlets, BWG Foodservice and the XL retail brand.

Moane is also responsible for overall BWG Foods supply chain logistics.

He joined BWG Foods as cash & carry director in 1999, having previously spent a number of years in wholesale distribution which included the role of managing director of Bridgestone/Firestone Ireland.
