Lidl Ireland Launches New Japanese Food Range

Lidl Ireland has announced the launch of its biggest ever ‘Vitasia’ food range, bringing the authentic tastes of Japan to Irish shoppers from 11 July while stocks last.

As part of the retailer’s ‘Taste of the World’ offering, which gives customers an opportunity to experience high-quality, diverse and affordable options from around the world, this exciting new range features a wide variety of authentic Japanese dishes, snacks, desserts, and beverages, with prices starting at just €0.59.

The expanded range features more than 60 products including sushi, ginger and a diverse range of rice noodles.

There is also a wide selection of flavours available, from pocky and matcha tea to a selection of fresh sushi platters made locally by Japanese food specialists in Co. Dublin.

The Range

When it comes to sushi, Lidl will have everything you need to create your own collaboration of delicious flavours.

For newcomers to sushi-making, the sushi kit (€5.99) is the perfect place to start, with a bamboo rolling mat, two pairs of chopsticks, and a step-by-step instruction card.

Alongside nori sheets (€1.49), sushi rice (€1.99), rice vinegar (€1.99), Asian sauces (€1.39), Lidl has everything needed to make delicious sushi.

Alternatively, the retailer is offering a range of fresh sushi platters (€10.49) made locally by Japanese food specialists Oishii Sushi in Dublin.

Add to the meal with gyoza (from €2.19) and Miso soup, made with Lidl’s Miso paste (€2.49) available in both white and dark.

Or for a taste of Japanese street food, Lidl will be offering a variety of prawns including surimi prawns (€2.99) and a range of fish tapas (€2.99), and Yakitori chicken skewers (€2.19) for anyone who is not as fond of prawns.

Finish it off with a delicious dessert, like mochi, made from sweet rice that is soaked, steamed and pounded into dough.

From 11 July, Lidl will be offering a range of mochi flavours, from the sweet lime and yuzu sorbet mochi to the savoury black sesame ice-cream mochi (both €4.79).

The retailer will also be selling Pocky (€1.69) in matcha green tea, strawberry and cookies and cream flavours.

Matcha green tea (€2.49) and yuzu dessert (€2.49) will also be available for a refreshing summer treat.

Lidl’s Vitasia Japenese Style ‘Taste of the World’ food range will be available in all Lidl stores nationwide from 11 July while stocks last.
