Londis Retailers Go To Hell & Back For Joy For Pieta House

More than 200 Londis retailers and staff undertook the Hell & Back Challenge at the picturesque Kilruddery Estate in Bray, Co Wicklow on 15 June last to raise funds for the Londis charity partner Pieta House.

Londis retailers have worked with Pieta House for several years, running a number of national and local initiatives in support of the charity. These initiatives include a parachute jump fundraiser called ‘Jump for Joy’ in 2016, ‘Climb for Joy’ in 2017, ‘Cycle for Joy’ last year as well as various ‘Eat for Joy’ local activations and numerous coffee mornings.

To date, Londis Retailers have donated over €300,000 to Pieta House through their various enterprises.

Hell for Joy

This year’s venture, ‘To Hell for Joy’, was a tremendous success and, according to Conor Hayes, Londis Sales Director, the most popular yet among Londis Retailers.

“We received great support from Londis Retailers for this year’s Hell & Back Challenge. We had more than 200 Londis retailers putting themselves through HELL in order to raise funds for Pieta House and I know the charity are delighted with our ongoing support," said Hayes

Londis understands how important community spirit is and I am thrilled that our Retailers were in the middle of the action, having fun and raising funds for Pieta House.”

Hell & Back is Ireland’s Toughest Mental & Physical Endurance Challenge, where participants must complete an 8-13KM trail route crossing rivers and lakes, climbing hills and mountains and crawling through bogs and swamps.

Londis has worked with Pieta House for several years, running the ‘for Joy’ fundraising events in support of the charity.
