Maxol Acquisition Of Ballindine Topaz Service Station Approved

The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) has approved the transaction that would see Maxol acquire the Topaz-branded service station in Ballindine, Co. Mayo.

The deal will see Maxol take over the Topaz-branded service station, associated convenience store, and two retail units.

The convenience store operates under the Centra brand, while the two retail units are leased to third parties, and are home to a pharmacy and a cafe.

The proposed transaction was notified under the Competition Act 2002 on 3 June 2016, and the CCPC decided that it would not substantially lessen competition in any market for goods or services in the State.
