Musgrave Marketplace Reduces Carbon Footprint

Musgrave MarketPlace is doing its bit for the environment by upgrading its delivery fleet to reduce its carbon footprint. The retail and food service wholesaler will invest €8 million in 55 new multi-temperature trucks to facilitate high – frequency nationwide coverage.   The benefit of the new multi temperature fleet will allow Musgrave to deliver ambient, frozen and fresh food liquor and non-food products in a single delivery, thereby eliminating the need for more trips and reducing its carbon footprint.   Paul Kerrigan, the Director of Musgrave MarketPlace said of the investment, “This is the largest investment made by Musgrave MarketPlace in our delivery fleet to date, underlining our commitment to ensuring a timely, quality service to our customers. It means that we can now offer Ireland’s widest wholesale range of over 12’000 products, to our 40,000 customers nationwide with an even greater efficiency.”   The company’s vehicles supply products to the ten MarketPlace cash and carry outlets nationwide, as well as a host of retailers. In addition, Musgrave also offers a 6 day per week delivery service and a customer collect and online service.   The company’s Supply Chain Director, Barry O’Neill, insists that the new move is just another example of Musgrave’s continuing promise to its customers. “We are continually investing to deliver on our brand promise of ‘first for value, first for choice and first for service’.”   © 2014 - Checkout Magazine by Nicole Balamine
