Tesco Ireland Partners With Keohane Seafoods In Deal Worth Over €21m

Tesco Ireland has announced a new supply deal with Keohane Seafoods worth more than €21 million, it was announced this week.

The two-year deal will see Tesco significantly expand its range of fish products.

The retailer currently spends €14 million per year with the Cork-based company.

The partnership will see the addition of more than 20 new Tesco-branded product lines with the fish supplier.

Keohane Seafoods already supplies 30 fish products to Tesco Ireland, including Salmon Fillets with Garlic and Herb, and Cod Fillet with Lemon and Herb Marmalade.

Last year, Keohane Seafoods’ Finest Wild Atlantic Scallops with Garlic & Fennel Butter received a Blás na hÉireann award.

‘Securing And Maintaining Future Jobs’

The Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, Simon Coveney, welcomed news of the partnership, highlighting its impact on Irish employment.

Coveney said, “I’m delighted to see Tesco Ireland agreeing this multimillion-euro partnership with Keohane Seafoods.

“Tesco Ireland’s commitment to supporting great Irish producers, like Keohane’s, is important for securing and maintaining future jobs, particularly in rural and coastal areas.”

Joe Manning, commercial director at Tesco Ireland, said, “With this partnership, Tesco customers can look forward to enjoying this expanded range of affordable, high-quality seafood products from this award-winning Irish seafood producer.”

Colman Keohane, managing director at Keohane Seafoods, also expressed his excitement at the expanded partnership with Tesco Ireland.

Keohane said, “We are delighted to work with Tesco Ireland on bringing these highly innovative products to their many customers across Ireland.

“As a company, we have made a significant investment in our new, state-of-the-art factory.

“We are really excited that, in addition to our core range of seafood products, we now have a dedicated facility that can provide a quality range of ready-to-eat seafood products to Irish consumers.”
