UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School student Andrea Lyng has been awarded the Musgrave Award for her performance in her MSc Finance course.

Liz O’Mahony, Learning & Development Partner, Musgrave Group, said; “We are delighted to once again show our support for Irish business students in awarding Andrea this deserved prize.”

Lyng, who was awarded €1000 for winning the prize, is part of UCD’s Aspire Scholarship programme, which was set up by an anonymous donor to help fund graduates’ further education who would ordinarily be unable to afford it.

“I know that in this economic climate that pursuing a business masters may seem out of reach," she said, "but because of the Aspire Scholarship Programme I had the opportunity to pursue an MSc in Finance, and with Musgrave’s prize it has encouraged me to excel and opened the door to a lot of different finance career options.”

Professor Ciarán Ó hÓgartaigh, Dean, UCD Business, said, “One of the School’s primary purposes is to educate future business leaders who will have a profound impact on the economic environment. Support from the Musgrave Group, with their Musgrave Award, encourages and incentivises our graduate students to excel.”
