Re-turn Reports 300m Containers Returned Since Start Of DRS

Re-turn has reported that 300 million drinks containers have been returned in Ireland since the start of the DRS on 1 February 2024.

Re-turn, the operators of Ireland’s DRS, has announced that 90 million containers were returned in the month of June.

Re-turn has reported that Ireland’s DRS saw its busiest day on Bank Holiday Monday with 3.5 million containers returned.

Consumers are on track to return 150 million drinks containers as part of the DRS once the transition period ends today, Friday 31 May.

Re-turn has reminded retailers that the four month transition period for selling old stock within the DRS is ending this Friday, 31 May.

Re-turn has reported over 3 million drinks containers were returned on Sunday 12 May, in the busiest day of returns since the DRS began.
