The company said that the app will give its staff access to accredited experts in fitness, nutrition, finance and parenting to help them cope during the crisis.

'Essential Tool'

Speaking with the Irish Times, Peter Donohue, HR director, BWG said: “From a timing perspective, we couldn’t have rolled this out at a better time."

"We hoped at the start that it would prove to be an essential tool for employees but didn’t realise at the start just how critical it would be in terms of supporting staff,” he added.

BWG Foods works with more than 650 suppliers, dealing directly with approximately 14,000 customers, and serves in excess of one million shoppers on a daily basis.
