Musgrave Chief Executive Chris Martin Added To Checkout Conference Line-Up

The chief executive of the Musgrave Group, Chris Martin, has been added to the lineup for the 2014 Checkout Conference, in association with Rabobank, which takes place on 28 January 2014 at the Four Seasons Hotel, Dublin.

Martin will address the Checkout Conference just days before the process to rename the Superquinn network of stores to SuperValu is scheduled to commence. The name change will be one of the key discussion points of his presentation, ‘Winning In The New World’.

Commenting in advance of his appearance at the conference, Chris Martin said: “2014 will see the creation of an unrivalled Irish national retail brand as SuperValu and Superquinn come together. The decision to change Superquinn’s name stems from a fundamentally changed grocery market. The challenge for retailers now is drive growth through innovation, while ensuring that they offer consumers excellent value.”

Following the addition of 24 Superquinn stores, the expanded SuperValu network will consist of 225 stores.

Martin added that his presentation will “touch on how we are continuing to drive growth across the Group through initiatives like innovative consumer offers, as well as investing in technology to shift from a bricks and mortar offer to a 24/7 omnichannel experience.”
