Britvic Ireland Delivers 'Strong' Second Half Performance Due To Brands Investment

Britvic Ireland has delivered a strong second half performance based on investment in brands, its latest financial results show.

According to the group's preliminary results 2021 Britvic Ireland saw strong recovery in sales across channels in second half of year as COVID-19 restrictions ease.

Kevin Donnelly, managing director, Britvic Ireland commented, “Britvic Ireland enjoyed a robust second half of 2021 as lockdown restrictions eased and our key channel partners reopened.

"While we continued to enjoy the gains we made during lockdowns in products consumed at home, our ranges consumed away from home have also enjoyed a strong H2 performance,” he said.

“We delivered a strong performance across key metrics, demonstrating the strength of our brand portfolio of family favourites – thanks to significant investment in those brands throughout the year," Donnelly continued. "This includes major rebrands for Ballygowan and Club, and relaunching MiWadi with added vitamins which has proven very popular with consumers.”

Healthier People, Healthier Planet

Donnelly noted that the company's Healthier People, Healthier Planet sustainability programme continues to deliver meaningful improvements.

The company highlighted that it moved to RPET (recycled and recyclable) bottles and packaging across a number of brands delivering significant reduction in virgin plastic and packaging weight.

Earlier this year, Britvic Ireland invested €2 million in its Ballygowan facility in Newcastle West to 'facilitate the introduction of lightweight 100% RPET bottles' and to deliver 'industry-leading performance on carbon emissions reduction, increased use of renewable energy, zero waste-to-landfill and more efficient use of resources.'
