Monaghan Distillery Extends €300k Contract With Aldi

Aldi has extended its contract with the Old Carrick Mill Distillery in Carrickmacross, Co Monaghan, to supply 145 stores nationwide with its MoChara Irish Pink Grapefruit Gin.

The Irish gin will go on sale in all stores nationwide on 15 March for €19.99/500ml. The distillery has also signed on to supply Aldi with a soon to be revealed new product, launching later this year in August.

MoChara Irish Pink Grapefruit Gin

“Working with Aldi has been fantastic and we got to create and distil our MoChara Irish Pink Grapefruit Gin which has been well received all over Ireland,” said Old Carrick Mill founder and master distiller, Steven Murphy. “It’s perfectly balanced with a hint of sweetness, the ideal gin to share with a friend once restrictions allow!”

The master distillers at Old Carrick Mill use hand-selected botanicals like juniper, Angelica Root and pink grapefruit to create MoChara gin. These botanicals are slowly distilled, then hand bottled and labelled, all in Co Monaghan.

Hand Sanitiser Production

During the height of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, Old Carrick Mill Distillery converted 100% of its capacity to the production of hand sanitiser, recognising the demand in the local area. The team worked around the clock to formulate a safe and effective product that they then made available to people and organisations in need within their community.

Old Carrick Mill Distillery donated over €500k worth of hand sanitiser to more than 25 organisations, including NCBI, ICAN Irish Children’s Arthritis Network, Navan Soup Kitchen, Feed Our Homeless, Irish Wheelchair Association, Sleep Out Cavan, and Caring Angels, Castleblayney.
