Aldi's Beef Supplier Wins Awards at International Competition

ABP Cahir, Aldi’s beef supplier, won awards for eight different Aldi products at the International Taste Institute Awards in Brussels recently.

Chefs and sommeliers from all over the world judged Aldi’s products, and Aldi’s Specially Selected Black Angus Beef range performed well at the awards.

Crystal Certification

Aldi’s Tipperary Dry Aged Black Angus Ribeye Steak was the first Irish product to win the Crystal status, which means the product received a three-star accreditation for its third year in a row.

It was one of 79 products at the awards to receive this honour.

“For many years our beef supplier has been receiving accolades from the International Taste Institute in Brussels for our delicious Specially Selected Black Angus steaks, exclusive to Aldi, but this is the first year we can proudly take home a Crystal certification for one of our products,” said John Curtin, group buying director, Aldi.

“To be the first Irish product ever to take home the Crystal status is a huge honour.”
