Tesco stores across Ireland has announced that it will host the Great Irish Bake Sale today (Friday, 5 April) to raise funds for its national charity partner; Temple Street Children's Hospital.
“Now in its fifth year the Great Irish Bake for Temple Street is a fundraiser that we are hugely passionate about," Geraldine Casey, People Director, Tesco Ireland said.
The retailer announced in a statement that 151 of its stores nationwide will be participating in the fund raising event, with the aim of raising €100,000 for much needed equipment for the hospital.
Customers nationwide can purchase the baked goods made by Tesco staff throughout the day.
Alternatively, consumers can ‘tap-to-donate’, allowing for donations to be made with the quick-tap feature, available with most debit and credit cards at select stores nationwide.
All funds raised will be used to replace an Ophthalmology YAG Laser, which is used to improve a patient’s vision after cataract surgery.
