Ireland's Retailers Unveil Christmas Ad Campaigns

With Halloween now a distant memory, Ireland's top retailers are adopting different strategies when it comes to the unveiling of their Christmas marketing campaigns, Checkout has discovered.

Lidl was first out of the blocks this year, with its Christmas TV campaign going live the day after Halloween, November 1.

A Lidl spokesperson told Checkout, "Our ambient Christmas stock is on sale from mid to late September, so we usually kick off right after Halloween."

Rival Aldi launched its Christmas advert on Friday last (6 November), whileDunnes Stores also launched its campaign last week. SuperValu has penciled in 'mid-November' as the launch date for its Christmas TV campaign.

A spokesperson for Tesco told Checkout that the retailer is set to launch its Christmas advert in 'a week, or week and a half'.
