Dunnes Online Grocery Service Set For Autumn: Reports

Dunnes Stores is to launch its online grocery service this autumn, the Irish Independent has reported.

According to the paper, the online service will initially focus on the Dublin area.

Dunnes plans to make ‘alterations’ to its flagship Cornelscourt site in south Dublin, to accommodate a ‘click and collect’ service.

The Irish Independent quotes industry sources as saying, however, that meeting the target of an autumn launch will be ‘challenging’ for the retailer.

Dunnes currently holds 22% of the grocery market, according to the latest market share figures from Kantar Worldpanel, behind Tesco and SuperValu, which both hold 25% each.
