Too Good To Go App Announces 100m Meals Saved In One Year

Over 100 million meals were saved from going to waste by the Too Good To Go app in 2023, according to a recent report.

The company’s 2023 Impact Report revealed that 121,686,720 meals had been saved by app users – a 46% increase on 2022.

In Ireland, over half a million bags of food were successfully saved in the measured time period. The app also brought on 953 new partners, including Aldi and SuperValu.

The number of businesses currently using the app in Ireland is 1,800, with Dublin and Galway the most active counties.

The achievement demonstrates the success of Too Good To Go’s ‘win-win-win’ business model.

‘Merging Purpose And Profit’

The chief executive of Too Good To Go, Mette Lykke, welcomed the news, saying that it was cause to celebrate not just the company’s growth, but meaningful change.

Lykke said, “We offer a concept that helps to solve one of the world’s biggest problems, and everyone wins. Every meal we help to save is a step closer to a healthier planet.

“Breaking the significant milestone of saving 100 million meals from going to waste in just a single year shows how, now more than ever, Too Good To Go is serving a need in the market for sustainable solutions to help slow climate change.”

She concluded, “Our company’s growth is evidence that merging purpose and profit is achievable, and social-impact companies can positively benefit society, the economy, and the planet, all at the same time.”
